Comprehensive Family Dentistry Services
Tooth Restoration with Dental Crowns
If you have a decayed or damaged tooth, our general dentist may recommend a dental crown. A crown is a type of restoration that fits over a damaged or decayed tooth to protect it from further damage and restore its shape, size, and strength. We use high-quality materials and precision techniques to ensure your crown looks natural, functions properly, and lasts for years.
During the procedure, our dentist will assess your oral health and determine if a dental crown is the best option. If so, we will prepare the tooth by removing any decay or damage. An impression is taken of the prepared tooth and an accurate model is made. We may also place a temporary crown while the permanent crown is being created. Once the permanent crown is ready, it will be placed over the prepared tooth for a natural-looking and comfortable fit.
Root Canal Therapy
If you have a damaged or infected tooth, we may recommend a root canal procedure to save the tooth and prevent further damage. During a root canal treatment, our dentist will remove the infected pulp from inside your tooth and replace it with a special filling material. This allows us to preserve your natural tooth and stop any pain or discomfort you may be experiencing.
Tooth Extraction Services
When a tooth is too damaged to repair with a filling or crown, the tooth must be extracted. A simple extraction or surgical extraction may be performed. For simple extractions, we will use a special tool to loosen the tooth before gently removing it. For surgical tooth extractions, our dentist may need to make an incision in the gum tissue to access the tooth and remove it.
After your tooth has been removed, be sure to follow our dentist’s instructions for keeping the area clean and to help it heal properly. These include the following:
- Avoid drinking hot beverages, smoking, and using straws for at least 24 hours after the extraction. Doing so can dislodge the blood clot, which can lead to a painful condition called dry socket.
- Avoid touching or prodding the extraction site with your tongue or fingers.
- Eat soft, cool foods that are easy to chew and swallow. Avoid hard, crunchy, and chewy foods like popcorn and chips for at least 24 hours after your extraction.
If you experience severe pain, swelling, or bleeding that won’t stop, contact our office immediately.
Partial and Complete Dentures
If you need to replace missing teeth, we can provide a custom-made set of dentures that look natural and fit comfortably. We will use advanced imaging and measurements to create a comfortable and natural-looking set of dentures that are designed specifically for your mouth.
Dental Cleaning
Regular dental cleanings are an important part of preventive care. During a teeth cleaning, our family dentist will use specialized tools to remove plaque and tartar buildup from the surfaces of your teeth. This helps reduce your risk of developing cavities and other dental health problems. We also provide advice on how to properly brush and floss your teeth at home to maintain good oral hygiene.
